- Contaminated Waste Removal
Project
Cartage and disposal of asbestos-contaminated stockpiles at Barangaroo.
Project Scope
EMS was engaged to oversee the removal and disposal of approximately 25,000 tonnes of asbestos-contaminated waste stockpiled at Barangaroo Central, one of Sydney’s most prominent development precincts. The project demanded high-level coordination, strict safety protocols, and full compliance with environmental regulations.
Working in collaboration with Lend Lease, JBS&G Consultants, and Pure Contracting, EMS managed the safe removal, transport, and disposal of the asbestos-contaminated general solid waste. Operating under ASB2 supervision, EMS provided end-to-end oversight, from initial risk assessment through to final clearance, ensuring all works were delivered to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and environmental care.
